Price-free/D-reizen has seen its online bookings grow by 33 percent in January this year compared to the same month in 2023. “Thanks to this large increase, the leading position in the market will be further expanded and a strong tone will be set for the year 2024,” the travel company said in a statement. In addition, the figures indicate the Dutchman’s intentions to go out frequently again this year, is the conclusion. “The growth in Prijsvrij/D-reizen applies to both the last minute winter bookings for this holiday season and the bookings for the May and summer holidays, which indicates a consistent increase among Dutch people in the demand for holidays in all seasons,” says Director Marketing Mathijs Bos. The largest growth is being recorded in popular and relatively new destinations such as the Turkish Riviera, Dubai, Malta and the Costa del Sol. ‘These destinations are seeing a doubling or sometimes even tripling of booking numbers compared to a year earlier.’ The recent growth in the number of bookings, despite the current economic challenges, reflects a striking trend among Dutch consumers: the continued desire to travel remains strong, even in times of financial uncertainty. This trend indicates a longer-term development, in which vacations and travel are seen as essential expenses and no longer as a luxury that can only be afforded in economically favorable times, says Bos. With the growth, Prijsvrij/D-reizen is solidifying its position as one of the market leaders and setting the tone for a promising and successful 2024, the company reports. The travel group continues to focus on providing all types of vacations, while continuing to strive for even more improvement and innovation in its services. (Photo Shutterstock).
