In de zomer 2016 breidt KLM haar netwerk uit met vijf nieuwe Europese bestemmingen: Southampton, Inverness, Dresden, Genua en Valencia breidt KLM haar netwerk in de zomer 2016 uit. Klanten kunnen nu kiezen uit totaal 76 Europese bestemmingen die KLM rechtstreeks vanuit Amsterdam aanvliegt. In totaal voegt KLM volgende zomer tot wel 700.000 stoelen (5% groei) toe op Europese bestemmingen.
Volgens airlineroute.net valt echter Keulen af als Europese bestemming. Airlines zijn altijd begrijpelijk erg open over nieuwe bestemmingen, maar bij beeindiging van een bestemming hoor je het minder.

KLM yesterday (08DEC15) announced the closure of Amsterdam – Cologne service, which will see last flight operating on 31JAN16. The Skyteam member currently serves this route twice a day, with KLMcityhopper Fokker 70 aircraft.
