Corendon presented its new management team on Wednesday at the Trade Day. The tour operator had chosen the Vakantiebeurs as the stage to ratify the official change in the top. Gunay Uslu had her first formal working day as CEO of Corendon on Wednesday. She officially took over from Steven van der Heijden, who had led the travel company since September 2014. In addition to Uslu, Harry Nigten has been appointed Chief Financial Officer and Simone van den Berk as Chief Operating Officer. Van der Heijden is not leaving Corendon. Together with founder/owner Atilay Uslu, he has a non-statutory role in the five-member board of directors. Gunay Uslu, who has been State Secretary for Culture and Media for D66 since January 2022, returns to the family business with this step. From 2014 to 2021, she was director of Hotel Development & Design at Corendon Hotels & Resorts. Uslu said he was happy to be back. She describes her return as ‘coming home, but through a different door’.
