Purchasing & Product Manager Air Travel (Full-time)

Due to the constant growth of our air travel and expansion of our flight product (including long-haul destinations), we are looking for an experienced Purchasing & Product Manager Air Travel in the short term. Who are we?
Viabus GMBH is a leading tour operator (top 10 in the Netherlands) with bus and air bus trips within and outside Europe with its labels Bolderman Excursion Travel, Effeweg.nl, Van Nood and Diogenes Group Travel. An excellent price-quality ratio is used. The trips have been put together with care so that travelers can enjoy their holiday without any worries. The range of the labels includes bus trips, excursion trips, tours, city trips, cruises, air travel, car trips, Christmas trips, winter trips and autumn trips. The travel industry is changing rapidly, Viabus GMBH is rapidly moving from brochures to a web operator that presents and sells all kinds of holidays to various target groups by means of the latest techniques. The office in the Netherlands is located in Veenendaal, where approximately 40 employees work. The headquarters of Viabus GMBH is located in Zurich (Switzerland) right next to the main train station.
Who are we looking for?
Viabus GMBH is looking for an enterprising and commercial Purchasing & Product Manager with extensive knowledge and experience in the field of purchasing and product management. As Purchasing & Product Manager, you are at the heart of all journeys. You have an affinity with the product and have the technical knowledge and experience needed to take our flying product to an even higher level. You are a consummate professional and know everything about purchasing, product development, collaboration, calculation, turnover, revenue and product analysis. You think in terms of opportunities and possibilities and can think ‘out of the box’. You enjoy the contact with suppliers and have the drive to always want to be better. You maintain contacts with the hotels and partners with which Viabus GMBH has contracts and are responsible for the total purchasing process. To this end, you select and visit partners in the relevant countries and conduct contract negotiations independently. During this process, you will continue to build and maintain a strong personal network with current and future hotel owners or agents. Furthermore, you identify developments in the various countries at an early stage and share this information with your colleagues at the head office and provide them with all relevant information. You know your destination(s) like the back of your hand and creativity is at the top of your dictionary. Together with our local partners, you continuously come up with unique trips and keep a close eye on pricing. In addition to the design of the trip, you take care of the calculation and write an attractive text for the website. You will work in a small and close-knit team of experts, where you will be given full responsibility for multiple destinations.
Job requirements
The following criteria apply to this position:
- Passion for travel and extensive travel experience (within and outside Europe)
- HBO working and thinking level
- Demonstrable experience with purchasing and product management at a tour operator
- Commercial, creative and enterprising attitude
- Strong negotiator and personality
- Representative appearance
- Excellent numerical insight
- You are reliable, meticulous, proactive and independent
- A good command of the Dutch and English language, both verbally and in writing
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel
- Willingness to travel frequently
- In possession of driver’s license B
