Allianz Partners will launch the allyz mobile app on Wednesday. This is a digital platform that provides travelers with service and expert advice when they are on the road. The app is first available in the Netherlands, Germany and France. Géke McNab, Business Development Manager in the Netherlands since last summer, speaks of a ‘digital travel companion’. “I’ve been in the travel business for a while and I was always looking for services to unburden customers. Allianz Partners was found to be developing such a service. It is now being rolled out under the name allyz. As a B2B2C player, we are going to offer this to our business partners, so that they can offer it to their customers. Anyone can download and use the app for free, but some services are only available to customers who have insurance with Allianz Partners. They have access to all services and information via their policy number.’ Allyz (pronounced Alies, ed.) provides services that customers can use before, during and after their trip. For example, there is a policy safe, which allows customers to have an overview of their policies, but also to keep their passport safely within reach. The app also provides travel information, such as up-to-date flight details and airport information, such as which gate the flight departs from and which belt the baggage arrives at. This is done in collaboration with Amadeus. Customers can also receive push notifications about the current situation at their destination, for example in the event of forest fires or flooding. McNab mentions medical support as one of the app’s strengths, as it is Allianz Partners’ core business. Customers who don’t feel well at their destination can use the symptom checker, which includes chat with a virtual assistant. There is also the hospital finder. This indicates where in the vicinity there is a hospital with the desired specialty. ‘It makes customers feel safe. That’s exactly how unburdening is meant to be.’ Another component within allyz is Cyber Care, which protects customers against cyber crime. ‘People travelling are particularly vulnerable to cyber crime. Thanks to our scale, we have been able to conclude an attractive deal with F-Secure, which is a partner of Ziggo and KPN, and which offers, among other things, a VPN connection,’ says McNab, who will be talking to partners about providing customised solutions in the near future. Allyz will first be rolled out in the Netherlands, Germany and France and will be available in the country’s language. There are plans for a rollout to the US and Italy in the first quarter of 2024.
