Founder Willi Verhuven will step down as managing partner of Alltours in October. His successor is Jan Mayer, who joined Alltours on 1 June and who, as managing director, is responsible for finance, product and hotel and flight purchasing including calculations. These tasks were previously in the hands of Verhuven. Mayer was most recently Chief Product Officer at FTI Group. His arrival was announced back in March, before FTI filed for bankruptcy. Managing Director Georg Welbers will continue to be responsible for sales and marketing. But Alltours without Verhuven is unthinkable. Moving does not disappear from the picture. He joins the Alltours Foundation, which was created at the beginning of 2023 and will be the sole shareholder of the Alltours group of companies in the future. The foundation is financially fueled by the group’s profits. This amounted to 70 million euros in the past. Later, Verhuven’s private assets will also be transferred to the foundation’s assets. “With this step, I want to ensure that Alltours continues in a stable way,” said Verhuven (73) on Tuesday to the German FVW at the presentation of the winter program. Saying goodbye is not difficult for him, says Verhuven, who adds that he can also be lazy. “It would be different if the company wasn’t doing so well and we didn’t have such a great team.” Alltours, which was founded in 1974 by Willi Verhuven, is Germany’s sixth largest tour operator. In the 2022/2023 financial year, the group achieved a turnover of approximately 2 billion euros, with almost 2 million passengers. Verhuven is still the sole shareholder of Alltours.
