Under the slogan “Utrecht week long the center of the travel world,” the Jaarbeurs officially announced the first edition of the Dutch Travel Week. The Holiday Fair is the most important part of this. The Dutch Travel Week, from January 10 to 14, is a new multi-day event focusing on the (international) travel industry. These include the 53th edition of the Vakantiebeurs, the ANVR’s New Year’s Meeting, the Travel Trade Day (Vakdag) and the Travel Talent Event for students of tourism colleges. ‘During Dutch Travel Week, we connect the entire travel sector both in terms of leisure and business tourism,’ said Jaarbeurs chief executive Jeroen van Hooff. As TravMagazine reported earlier, Jaarbeurs is working with Utrecht Marketing to put extra effort into enthusing visitors to go into the city during Dutch Travel Week. ‘The Dutch Travel Week is a great opportunity for Utrecht, because together with Jaarbeurs and entrepreneurs in the city, we enthuse visitors and international travel professionals to go into the city, stay overnight and get to know Utrecht even better,’ says Cor Jansen, director of Utrecht Marketing. As is well known, ANVR is also actively involved in the Dutch Travel Week. ANVR’s general membership meeting and subsequent New Year’s reception move to the Jaarbeurs. This makes the January 8, 2024 reception the official kickoff of Dutch Travel Week. ‘Dutch Travel Week provides plenty of travel inspiration and the opportunity for travelers to seek personal advice from our authorized travel companies,’ said ANVR director Frank Oostdam. Dutch Travel Week also provides opportunities for young professionals in the travel industry. For example, Reiswerk organizes the Travel Talent Event. ‘We introduce new talent to the travel industry and in this way we hope to enthuse students about a job in this dynamic and innovative industry. Based on their own experiences, the young professionals give an insight into working in the travel industry, the challenges the sector faces and the various job opportunities in the travel industry.’ The Holiday Fair will be held from Thursday 11 to Sunday 14 January. The fair is open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. On Friday evening, the fair will be open until 8 p.m. with a relationship event. Travel Trade Day (Trade Day) will take place on Wednesday, January 10, starting at 10 a.m.
