A recent poll by TUI shows that the majority of Dutch people mainly use their holiday allowance to book holidays. Despite competition from other spending options such as white goods and furniture, 57% of respondents say they want to spend their holiday money on travel.
The online poll, conducted among almost 1000 Dutch people, shows that only 23% choose to put the money aside to save. In addition, 9% do not yet know how they will spend their holiday allowance and 11% will not receive any holiday pay.
Pressure to book summer holidays quickly
With the summer holidays approaching, the urgency to book a holiday quickly is increasing. Due to the high demand from neighboring countries such as Germany, Belgium and the United Kingdom, favorite destinations are quickly fully booked. TUI emphasizes the importance of booking early to avoid disappointment, as the availability of popular accommodations is rapidly declining due to the increase in last-minute bookings.
