TUI has taken the first step towards the realisation of its own concept hotel in Curaçao. On Monday, the contract for the construction of the TUI BLUE Curaçao in Santa Martha (Bandabao) was signed. This took place in the presence of Gilmar Pisas (Prime Minister of Curaçao), Charles Cooper (Minister of Traffic, Transport and Spatial Planning) and Ruisandro Cijntje (Minister of Economic Development). “TUI and Curaçao have been connected for many years,” says Arjan Kers, General Manager of TUI Netherlands. ‘I am therefore proud to announce that we are going to realize a beautiful new hotel on Curaçao together with the Vogels and Van Alstede families. The fact that we will soon be able to offer our customers a hotel with a TUI signature is fantastic. It is a wonderful addition to our offer in Curaçao. Santa Martha is the perfect location for this, with its authentic surroundings and located on one of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean. With this hotel, Curaçao will gain a beautiful tourist attraction that will undoubtedly make many TUI customers happy.’ Construction is expected to start in August next year. TUI BLUE Curaçao is scheduled to open its doors in the winter of 2025. The hotel will have 300 rooms with the possibility of expanding it to 400. The development of the TUI BLUE hotel will give a huge boost to tourism on the island, says TUI. It will not only welcome guests from the Netherlands, but also holidaymakers from other TUI countries. In addition, the hotel brings employment and offers interesting economic and tourist growth opportunities for the west side of the island. (TUI photo).
