TUI has suspended all scheduled travel to Israel until at least the end of this year. These include trips to Tel Aviv and five tours and group tours. “We are in consultation with those groups, whether they want to reschedule to later, to another destination or cancel free of charge,” spokesperson Petra Kok confirmed Monday evening, following reports from RTL News. ‘We deliberately extended it to the end of this year to give those groups clarity. You don’t rebook a group to another destination at the last minute.’ On Saturday, Oct. 7, the day of Hamas’ bloody terror attack against Israel, a group trip of 37 people was just about to leave for Israel. The trip was organized by Goed Idee Reizen, the Christian travel organization that is part of TUI Netherlands. The group was able to be stopped just in time. ‘They didn’t get on the plane,’ Kok said. With the decision, TUI says it is following Foreign Affairs’ travel advice. The color code of the travel advisory for Israel is orange and red. An orange travel advisory means: necessary travel only. Red means: do not travel. Fall is normally a popular time to travel to Israel. (Photo Shutterstock).
