With over 200 travel agents from TUI’s own travel agencies and TUI at Home and with the cooperation of 25 partners/suppliers, TUI kicked off the second edition of the TUI & Friends Event on Wednesday evening. The event includes three meetings at the headquarters in Rijswijk. Also Thursday and Friday evening, employees of TUI travel agents and TUI at Home ZRAs can learn about the partner travel companies (the Friends) sold at TUI retail. Spread over three evenings, nearly 650 travel agents are expected to attend. “Knowledge transfer is something you have to constantly invest in,” stated Suzanne Gossen, Head of Retail at TUI. The main office was buzzing with activity. Also in attendance was Anke van Doveren, who will take office as the new manager of TUI at Home as of Nov. 15. ‘I try to attend events like this as much as possible to get to know everyone.’ New this year is the open day for customers on the following Saturday. In record time, 900 customers signed up for this “coziest vacation market in the Netherlands,” hosted in a morning and afternoon session. The interest was so great that customers can no longer sign up. Also new this year is the digital game element that allowed travel sellers to get all the necessary information about the cooperation partners ahead of the TUI & Friends Event. That way, they’ll be better prepared to meet live with partners. For this concept, we are collaborating with JustCurious. Afterwards, there was plenty of talk over drinks and snacks.
