
Last year, Schiphol recorded 61.7 million passengers flying to or from the airport. This is an increase of 18% compared to 2022 (52.5 million), but 14% less than in the pre-corona year of 2019 (71.7 million). In calendar year 2023, there were 441,963 aircraft movements to and from Schiphol. With 6.8 million passengers, Eindhoven Airport reached the highest number of passengers in the history of the airport. Rotterdam The Hague Airport welcomed 2.2 million travellers. Of the nearly 61.7 million passengers in 2023, 39.1 million travelled directly to or from Schiphol; 36% of passengers had a transfer at the airport. This is more than 11 million unique transfer passengers. Transferees are counted twice in the international counting method: as a traveller on arrival and as a traveller on departure. Last year, there were 441,963 aircraft movements to and from the airport. This is an increase of 11% compared to 2022 (397,646 aircraft movements) and 11% less than in 2019 (496,826 aircraft movements). This involved 425,994 passenger flights and 15,969 cargo flights. The Netherlands was connected via Schiphol to 305 direct destinations, 126 of which were intercontinental. 7 destinations were added (including Alanya and additional connections to Beijing and Mexico City). Flights were stopped to 16 destinations (including airports in Russia and Ukraine). Approximately 43 million passengers went to or came from a destination in Europe, 18 million to or from an intercontinental destination. Great Britain was the most popular destination, followed by Spain and the United States. Eindhoven Eindhoven Airport saw the number of passengers increase from 6.3 million in 2022 to 6.8 million in 2023 (+8%). This was the highest number of passengers in the history of the airport. In 2019, more than 6.7 million passengers travelled to or from Eindhoven Airport. The number of aircraft movements increased from 40,252 to 41,496 (+3%). Rotterdam In 2023, more than 2.2 million passengers travelled via Rotterdam The Hague Airport (+5% compared to 2022 and +6% compared to 2019). There were 16,191 aircraft movements, which is an increase of 3% compared to 2022 and 3% less than in 2019.
