The Israel Tourist Board will close the doors of its Amsterdam office in mid-July. Dana Gazit, who came to Amsterdam four years ago as director of the Netherlands, is returning to Israel. In view of the current situation in Israel, the Ministry of Tourism has decided to close the office on the Van Baerlestraat. Gazit says he hopes that the Amsterdam office will be reopened as soon as the situation in Israel improves. ‘Maybe an office with a smaller staffing or through a PR agency, only time will tell. We are still in contact with tour operators who want to start again as soon as possible.’ Gazit says he has always enjoyed working in the Netherlands. ‘My four-year term as director for the Netherlands is coming to an end. I’m grateful for everyone I’ve met during this time,” she told TravMagazine. ‘The Dutch travel industry is full of enthusiastic and friendly people, always willing to learn or communicate. I was so proud to represent my beloved country of Israel and I hope I have succeeded in spreading this feeling further. The Netherlands and its people will forever hold a special place in my heart. Goodbye ‘Buienradar’, and hello sunshine; Here I come.’ Earlier this week, it was announced that
