Fitur in Madrid has more participants this year than last year and has a larger exhibition floor. The 44th edition of the tourism fair has 806 exhibitors from 152 countries. Exhibition organizer Ifema Madrid expects 150,000 trade visitors and 100,000 consumers. Fitur, which runs from 24 to 28 January, comprises nine theatres. That’s one more than in 2023. The fair brings together around 9,000 participating companies and 152 countries. With 806, the number of exhibitors is more than seven percent more than last year. Organizer Ifema Madrid expects 150,000 trade visitors between Wednesday and Friday. Over the weekend, 100,000 private visitors are expected. The fair has grown mainly internationally, with 20 more countries than last year. This year’s partner country is Ecuador. These figures translate into a significant economic injection for the Madrid region, with a turnover of around 430 million euros. The transport, hotels and restaurants sectors in particular benefit from this. According to the fair organization, Fitur’s success reflects the growth that national and international tourism has experienced and lays the foundation for further consolidation of the sector in 2024.
