Daan Blanket of Miradouro Travel is the new number 1 in the Smile Society Top 100 of Sunny Cars. He can call himself the best in the Netherlands this quarter. His efforts are rewarded by the car rental specialist with a car rental voucher worth 500 euros. A year and a half ago, Daan founded his company Miradouro Travel, a holiday specialist with a focus on travel to Madeira and the Azores. He is therefore very surprised that he is already number 1 in the Top 100. “When I got the call, I was surprised. Last year I was also on the list, but in 31st place. Despite the fact that I have booked a lot of rental cars and my destinations lend themselves to exploring with a rental car, I couldn’t believe a number 1 position. I’m going to redeem the car rental voucher soon during my trip to the Azores in a few weeks.’ At the Smile Society, travel agents can earn up to an additional 15 percent discount on their rental car every quarter. This discount is in addition to the standard 20 percent that every travel agent receives from Sunny Cars. According to Fieneke van Heusden-Bosters, Account Manager Retail & ZRAs at Sunny Cars Netherlands, Daan is living proof that it is feasible to get so high on the list. ‘Daan contacted us a year and a half ago. He wanted to have a Sunny Cars account to be able to offer rental cars to his customers. When I asked him if he could estimate how many rental cars he thought he would sell, he found this difficult. Less than two years later, he has achieved a fantastic result. I’m sure it’s because of the passion with which he talks about the islands.’ The cards for the Smile Society have been reshuffled since the beginning of April. Everyone has a chance to get a position in the Smile Society Top 100. ‘In addition to car rental discounts, we will be sending out the last invitations for our Smile Society Event in September at the beginning of July,’ says Fieneke. “Weren’t you on the list last year? Run the engine at full speed in the coming months. It will be a day that is all about laughing, screaming and screaming. You want to be part of this.’
