The construction of the new TUI Blue Curaçao hotel near Santa Martha will start this year. It is scheduled to open in early 2026. This is confirmed by Arjan Kers, general manager of TUI Netherlands, after reports in Antillean media. A TUI concept hotel on Curaçao has been high on the wish list of the island’s largest travel organization for years. The concrete construction plans for the TUI Blue Curaçao hotel were already announced in December 2022. The new luxury resort with 300 rooms is the result of a collaboration between TUI, the well-known hotelier family Vogels and the Van Alstede family. The Van Alstede family, who developed TUI’s new office building in Willemstad, are mainly concerned with the architectural side of the project. The Vogels hotelier family (of Avila Beach Hotel and Lions Dive, among others) is responsible for the management. “With this hotel, Curaçao will gain a beautiful tourist attraction that we will hopefully make many TUI customers happy with,” Kers said at the presentation of the first plans at the end of 2022. ‘The fact that we will soon be able to offer our customers a hotel with a TUI signature here is fantastic. It is a wonderful addition to our offer in Curaçao. Santa Martha is the perfect location for this, with its authentic surroundings and located on one of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean.’ According to Kers, the hotel will contribute to tourism in Curaçao and also attract other nationalities from the TUI Group. He mentions the Belgian, German, English and Scandinavian markets. Kers underlines the long-standing relationship between TUI and Curaçao, which began in 2005 when Arkefly (now TUI fly) started flying to Curaçao itself. (Archive photo TUI).
