
Problems are reported worldwide due to malfunctions with Windows computers. Airports and airlines, among others, have been affected. Schiphol, KLM and Transavia are also reporting problems. It appears to be a problem with the software of cybersecurity company CrowdStrike, international media report. The problems are mainly with Windows computers. After an update, they show a blue screen that prevents them from booting. The software vendor says it is aware of the problems. Schiphol is also experiencing problems. “Right now, there’s a global system outage at Microsoft. This disruption also has a major impact on flights to and from Schiphol. The impact is now being mapped out. We advise travellers to contact their airline and keep an eye on their up-to-date flight information,” the airport reports. A spokesperson for Transavia confirms to TravMagazine that the disruption has an impact on the airline’s flights. “This is going to be a messy day,” he says.
