Applying agreed new rules in the field of travel offers takes time. The ANVR therefore asks for more patience. In short, that is the reaction of the ANVR to the accusation of the Consumers’ Association that many travel organizations still do not have their offers in order. In a press release on Monday, the union announced that it would go to court. The ANVR says: ‘Travel companies must comply with laws and regulations and with the advertising code for travel offers. It contains the agreements for travel advertisements. In the past year, regulator ACM has come up with entirely new insights into price transparency, not so much on the basis of changed legislation. These are inclusive prices (including costs per booking and local taxes and levies, ed.) ANVR advises its members to follow these new insights and has already started a revision of the advertising code to adapt it accordingly. We understand that this will take travel companies some time to get done.’
