The ANVR has launched the logo for the ANVR congress, which will be held in Oman in mid-November. The conference theme is ‘Energizing The Future of Travel’. Through this theme, a link is made with the fact that Oman is involved in the development of alternative fuels, such as hydrogen. The honeycomb shape of the logo is inspired by this hydrogen. This form is often used in images about hydrogen and is frequently used in Oman, such as in the many Moorish tile mosaics in the famous Sultan Qaboos mosque in Muscat. The colours of the country are incorporated into the logo: the sand colour of the desert, the azure blue of the sea and gold that refers to the ‘scented gold’ of the incense of the Frankincense tree, which you can smell everywhere in Oman. ‘The smooth flow in the logo reflects the cooperation and the joining of forces within the ANVR. The energy to safeguard the future of travel’, says the ANVR. The congress will be held from Wednesday 13 to Sunday 17 November this year. In addition, pre- and post-tours will be put together, allowing participants to discover more of Oman before or after the congress, as the congress days will mainly take place in Muscat. This was decided to limit travel during the congress as much as possible, as it yielded very high scores in the survey among the participants in northern Spain last year. Also, just like last year, a full day will be set aside for excursions so that everyone gets the chance to discover something of Oman, outside of Muscat. Muscat itself also has a lot to offer and will show itself from various special sides during the congress program, says the ANVR. The speaker palette, compiled for the last time this year by outgoing director Frank Oostdam, is also starting to take shape. The ANVR promises ‘surprising insights and inspiring moments’. Following on from last year, an afternoon will be held during the conference for the business travel companies of the ANVR, in which there will again be room for discussion and brainstorming. The full programme will soon be published on the new conference website, where the overnight hotel and the participation fee will also be announced. The ANVR ‘obviously’ tries to keep this price as low as possible. At the beginning of March, ANVR director Frank Oostdam signed the official contract for the congress at the ITB.
