Many campers often throw a ball with a game of pétanque during their holidays. ACSI Camping Trips, known from the programme ‘We are almost there’ by Omroep Max, is now taking it seriously. ACSI is the new sponsor of the Dutch Jeu de Boules Association (NJBB). Pétanque, also known as petanque, is a sport that is often played during a camping holiday. Through the collaboration, ACSI, a leading organiser of organised camping trips, and the NJBB want to appeal to a wider audience. ‘Of course, we know that there is already a regular game at the campsite and ACSI Camping Trips is a perfect partner to promote this further,’ says Olaf Melsen, director of the NJBB. Pieter Melieste, Tour Operating Manager at camping specialist ACSI, is also satisfied with the new partnership. “With more than 50 years of experience in organizing camping trips, we understand the value of the group feeling and relaxation while camping. Even during the trips we organise, the participants like to play petanque.’ According to Melieste, Jeu de Boules and camping are an excellent combination.
‘It’s relaxing, it promotes social interaction between campers and the sport is accessible to all ages.’ The sponsorship agreement has been agreed for three years.
