After the Netherlands and Germany, Nordic, originally from Belgium, is also entering the French market. After the recent acquisition of Askja Reizen on the Dutch market, the acquisition of the French Nord Espaces now follows. This travel company specializes in trips to Scandinavia, with more than 30 years of experience in the French market. In addition to this new acquisition, Nordic will also become co-owner of the lodges of Explore the North in Lapland, a partner with whom the Belgian travel company has been working exclusively for years for its winter trips to Swedish Lapland. Before the corona period, Nordic achieved a turnover of approximately 30 million euros, with 40 employees. During the pandemic, the company invested heavily in digitization and optimization of processes. Partly due to the increasing popularity of the Scandinavian destinations, Nordic expects a turnover of more than 150 million euros with approximately 180 employees by 2025. Nordic Collection now includes eleven travel brands. In addition to Nordic, which was founded in 2008 by CEO Maarten Raes under the name ‘Nordic Info’, there are the brands Galtic, Atacama, MyHimalaya, Canada Travel Designers, Wild Alaska, Beyond Borders, Askja, VNC Asia Travel, FLY and BiKE and now also Nord Espaces.
