Europa-Park’s new roller coaster has already attracted 100,000 visitors in less than a week after its official opening. Number 100,000 happened to come from the Netherlands. She was welcomed after the ride with garlands and a bouquet of flowers by the managing partners Michael and Thomas Mack. After more than two years of construction, Germany’s largest amusement park opened a new type of roller coaster, a so-called Stryker coaster, on April 26 this year. The roller coaster launches the occupants up to 100 kilometers per hour four times, including one reverse. With seven rollovers, 2.2 seconds of weightlessness in one go and the steepest launch in the world at 105 degrees, the new roller coaster sets countless new records. The new roller coaster was produced by MACK Rides, which is the parent company of Europa-Park. Since 1975, the traction park has been a Rides showroom in which the latest attractions are the first to be placed. The new roller coaster, the “Voltron Nevera powered by Rimac”, can be found in Europa-Park’s new Croatia themed area. Dutch people who visited Europa-Park this week are in luck, they will be among the first to take a ride on the roller coaster world premiere that the entire theme park industry has been looking forward to. They will also be the first to experience the renewed Austrian themed area during the May holidays. The official opening of this area is on 14 May, but can already be discovered during the soft opening. Photo: The Dutch Anne-Marie Vonk is the 100,000th visitor to the new roller coaster.
