PR man Marcel Baltus, who founded tourism PR agency Baltus Communications in 2000, is calling it quits. He is taking early retirement. His work will be continued by Agnes van Duffelen, co-owner of the firm since 2002. Baltus has decided not to continue working until his retirement age. After a career of more than 35 years in the travel industry, he believes the time has come to say goodbye to the sector. “It takes a little bit of guts to start your own business, and a little bit of courage to say goodbye to an industry you’ve put your heart and soul into before you retire,” he says. ‘I’m going to start the after-party of my life with pleasure. Retiring means the start of a new adventure.’
