After a six-day strike, Eiffel Tower staff returned to work last weekend. Trade unions and the operator of the world-famous tourist attraction have reached an agreement. Employees demanded more wages, which are commensurate with the income from ticket sales. In addition, they also wanted better maintenance of the 135-year-old tower. According to them, it shows traces of rust in some places. A wage increase is not in the cards for the time being. However, it has been agreed that operator SETE will invest approximately 380 million euros in maintenance, such as painting, until the year 2031, reports the NOS. The Eiffel Tower will play an important role in the Olympic Games in Paris next summer. The trade unions used the expected influx of tourists as a means of pressure. (Photo Shutterstock).
