The delivery of Transavia’s first Airbus has been delayed. The new device was damaged due to an unknown cause. The damage was sustained during production at the Hamburg plant. This has been announced by Transavia. The Airbus A321neo was already ready for use. Transavia was supposed to pick up the aircraft in Hamburg next week. The aircraft was to be presented at Schiphol on 7 December. Airbus has indicated that a new delivery date will be determined. After 57 years of being a full Boeing airline, Transavia will fly entirely with an Airbus fleet in seven years’ time. The A321 can accommodate more passengers: 232 seats. That is considerably more than the 189 seats of the Boeing 737-800. With the new type of aircraft, Transavia is taking a major step towards more sustainable flying. The A321 Neo consumes less fuel, has less CO2 emissions and is quieter. The aircraft has a light cabin, with a better customer experience, while the seats are lighter, which in turn saves on fuel consumption. Transavia has ordered a total of 27 units of the A321 Neo. The last Airbus will be added in the winter of 2030. That’s an A320, with room for 186 passengers. Transavia recently posted a video of a successful test flight on LinkedIn.
