EasyJet will launch a new summer route from Schiphol Airport to Malta next year. Starting April 30, the low-cost carrier will fly twice a week, on Tuesdays and Fridays, to the Mediterranean island. The route will remain operational until the end of October 2024, allowing EasyJet travelers to fly all summer to a destination where the sun shines an average of 300 days a year. The addition of Malta brings EasyJet’s total number of destinations from Schiphol to 38. Located between Italy and North Africa, Malta is about twice the size of Texel. Malta’s popularity as a vacation destination is growing steadily, the airline says. “With pleasant temperatures lasting from April to almost November, the period when EasyJet operates the route, travelers can enjoy sun-drenched beaches, crystal-clear waters and a rich history, including a vibrant cultural heritage.” For sports enthusiasts, the island offers various diving sites, hiking trails and cliffs.
