MSC Cruises will sail from the Canary Islands for the first time next winter season 2024\/25. MSC Opera operates two 7-night itineraries with embarkation in Las Palmas (Gran Canaria) on Friday and Santa Cruz de Tenerife on Sunday. The season runs from November 8, 2024 to March 21, 2025. The two new routes will replace MSC Opera’s previously planned 2024\/25 winter programme for the Red Sea. It was cancelled due to the risks to shipping in this region due to the current geopolitical situation. The two sailings from the Canary Islands each offer six ports of call and can be combined into a longer 14-night cruise. A longer stay at the ports is planned on both routes so that passengers have ample time to see the destination. In addition to a number of Canary Islands, MSC Opera will also visit the Portuguese island of Madeira. One week the ship goes to Arrecife (Lanzorote), Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Santa Cruz de la Palma, Funchal (Madeira) and Puerto del Rosario (Fuerteventura) before returning to Las Palmas. The following week, the MSC Opera will visit San Sebastian de la Gomera, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Funchal (Madeira), Arrecife (Lanzarote) and then return to Las Palmas. “The immense popularity and appeal of the Canary Islands among Belgian and Dutch holidaymakers will undoubtedly make these new itineraries a guaranteed success,” said Frank Van den Steen, Country Manager Benelux at MSC Cruises.
