Play Airlines, which operates flights between Europe and North America, now offers a stopover in Iceland at no extra cost. In this way, passengers can visit two countries on one trip. The Icelandic low-cost airline uses the so-called hub-and-spoke model. This means that all flights go via Iceland. In this way, passengers can stay in Iceland for up to ten days. “Instead of waiting just a few hours in Iceland, travelers can make a stop at this bucket list destination to experience all that our home country has to offer,” says Birgir J\u00f3nsson, the CEO of Play. “Long stopovers are a win-win situation for us and our passengers, as they allow for a journey of discovery at a comparatively low price.” Play, which celebrates its three-year anniversary in June this year, flies to more than 30 European destinations, including Amsterdam, Paris, Berlin, London, Copenhagen, Barcelona and Athens.
