Deep ravines, high mountain passes, sparkling mountains, sparkling lakes, idyllic mountain villages, 291 bridges and 91 tunnels: the Glacier Express offers all this and more on its delightful journey of just under eight hours. In more than 90 years, this classic among Swiss panoramic trains has never ceased to amaze its passengers. With its oversized panoramic windows, the Glacier Express offers unobstructed views of unique landscapes.<\/strong> The Glacier Express (see photo above) offers a journey for the senses – from the Engadine to the Matterhorn. During his leisurely ride of stunning St. Moritz to the equally sophisticated Zermatt delights the Glacier Express travelers with scenic attractions and technically advanced performance. Disembark in Chur <\/strong>and be surprised. Chur is the oldest city in Switzerland, but it doesn’t just live from its past. The capital of Graub\u00fcnden is brimming with life and culture with its numerous festivals, cafes, clubs, museums, large department stores and boutiques. If you want to discover ancient Chur, you can book a city tour. To date, Chur is the trading center and capital of a large region. The numerous shops, the museums, the theatre, as well as the post bus station, the true hub and gateway to mountainous Graub\u00fcnden bear witness to this. The Rhaetian Railway has its home port here. Chur is the gateway to the Graub\u00fcnden mountains: 26 holiday resorts and spas can be reached from Chur in less than an hour. From Chur you can continue your journey on the Chur – Arosa <\/strong>route, which will have existed for 110 years in 2024. The journey starts quietly in Chur. But the calm journey through the city is soon over when the red train suddenly begins to climb into the mountains, where Arosa awaits with fresh mountain air, sunshine and a dose of humor. The Arosa line rises 1,000 meters in just 26 kilometers. The RhB line slowly makes its way through the streets of Chur \u2013 past the city walls, the Maltese Tower, and the Obertor Gate. A few minutes later, the train moves through untouched nature and the mountainous landscape of Schanfigg. The composition seems to float over the Langwieser Viaduct over the Plessur River. The journey to Arosa, at 1,800 meters above sea level, takes an hour. Once there, you can let your imagination run wild for the day: take the cable car to the top of the Weisshorn or to the Carmennah\u00fctte. Hike high above the valley with a view of Tschiertschen. Thanks to the connection of the ski areas, Arosa and Lenzerheide are now the largest interconnected ski region in Graub\u00fcnden with 225 km of slopes. \"\" Arosa Lenzerheide makes winter sports hearts beat faster. Winter sports enthusiasts have access to twice as many original mountain huts, where they can enjoy a delicious lunch or apr\u00e8s-ski on the sun terrace. The new double cable car connects Arosa-H\u00f6rnli with Urdenf\u00fcrggli in Lenzerheide and takes winter sports enthusiasts back and forth between the two winter sports areas in just three minutes. And Arosa offers THE family offer: Winter sports for beginners “Ski school included” for the youngest guests. The group ski school and snowboard courses are free in winter<\/strong> for all children and young people born after 1998. This offer is valid from 2 nights in the participating hotels and holiday homes. This winter 2023\/2024, guests will benefit from an additional service of the Bernina Express. From December 8, 2023, the panoramic train will run between Tirano in Italy and St. Moritz, and back again, from Friday to Sunday. The morning service 972 to St. Moritz is ideal for travelers who want to make the most of their trip after an overnight stay in Tirano, by experiencing the atmosphere of the chic Swiss spa town. The new 975 service travels in the opposite direction and is ideal for travelers who want to enjoy all that St. Petersburg has to offer. Moritz has to offer in the morning.
